Amazon Announces Major Seasonal Hiring Initiative for 2026

Amazon has revealed plans to hire 300,000 seasonal, part-time, and full-time employees across the United States for the upcoming holiday season. This significant hiring push marks a 20% increase from last year’s seasonal workforce, reflecting growing demand during the busy retail period.

Rising Demand for Holiday Seasonal Jobs

The announcement follows a forecast from the National Retail Federation predicting that 2026 holiday retail sales will surpass $1 trillion for the first time. As consumer demand continues to climb, Amazon’s increased hiring aims to support its operations and ensure smooth deliveries throughout the peak shopping season.

Competitive Pay for Amazon Seasonal Jobs

In September, Amazon raised its minimum starting wage for full-time workers to $20 per hour. According to the company, the average hourly pay for full-time staffers is currently about $24. Seasonal employees will also benefit, with average wages for seasonal positions at $20 per hour. Additionally, certain roles come with higher pay rates and signing bonuses:

  • Locker+ Retail Associate in Jackson, Wyoming: $21.50–$22 per hour, plus up to $3,000 signing bonus
  • Delivery Station Warehouse Associate in Danbury, Connecticut: $21–$23.50 per hour
  • Warehouse Equipment Operator in Easton, Pennsylvania: $21.25–$23.75 per hour
  • XL Warehouse Equipment Operator, Huntley, Illinois: $22–$24.50 per hour
  • Robotics Warehouse Associate, Omaha, Nebraska: $20.25–$22.75 per hour

Expanded Benefits for Seasonal Workers

Starting in 2027, Amazon plans to extend healthcare coverage to seasonal employees who work at least 30 hours per week. The company stated that these workers will become eligible for the same healthcare benefits provided to full-time staff. This change is expected to enhance the attractiveness of seasonal employment at Amazon in the future.

Amazon Job Openings and Application Process

Amazon reports that new job listings will be posted weekly from October through December. Positions are available throughout the United States, offering a range of opportunities in logistics, fulfillment, and customer service. Interested candidates can find current listings and apply directly through Amazon’s hiring website.

Variety of Seasonal Warehouse Jobs Available

The company’s hiring initiative covers various positions, including warehouse associate jobs and roles focused on robotics, equipment operation, and delivery logistics. These seasonal job opportunities play a key role in supporting Amazon’s operations during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.
