Jurassic World Rebirth Final Trailer Unleashes Dinosaur Mayhem
Universal Pictures today released the last trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth. The latest installment in the Jurassic Park franchise will arrive in theaters this summer. Jurassic World Rebirth’s final trailer, an action-packed preview that teases everything fans could want from a modern-day dinosaur thriller, is streaming now.
Jurassic World Rebirth opens in theaters on July 2, 2025. The film, which is both a continuation and a reboot of the Jurassic World series, stars Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali. Director Gareth Edwards, who previously worked on Godzilla in 2014, is also back for this installment. David Koepp is on board to pen the screenplay for Rebirth. Koepp previously wrote the original Jurassic Park in 1993 and the second film in the franchise, 1997’s The Lost World.
Jurassic World Rebirth’s official synopsis is as follows:
Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the Earth’s rapidly shifting ecosystem is becoming a less and less hospitable place for dinosaurs to thrive. As the world’s dinosaur population dwindles, these ancient creatures are forced into isolated pockets around the equator that are able to artificially replicate their native prehistoric habitats. Within one such dinosaur biosphere in the tropics are three of the largest dinosaurs on land, sea, and air, each carrying a unique genetic marker that could be used to extract the information needed to create a breakthrough drug with miraculous, life-extending properties.
Scarlett Johansson will portray covert operations specialist Zora Bennett, who is assigned to lead a team on a top-secret mission to extract the valuable genetic data. Their mission is compromised when they encounter a civilian boating family that had their vacation derailed by a sea-dwelling dinosaur attack. The remaining survivors from both groups find themselves on a deserted island that was once home to a clandestine Jurassic Park research facility that predates the famous theme park. The new trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth teases that the facility’s secrets will be darker and more terrifying than any dinosaur the group could ever face.
Jurassic World Rebirth also stars Rupert Friend, Jonathan Bailey, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in undisclosed roles. Rupert Friend will portray pharmaceutical representative Martin Krebs, while Jonathan Bailey and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will play paleontologist Henry Loomis and family patriarch Reuben Delgado, respectively. Delgado’s family also features on-screen: Luna Blaise, David Iacano, and Audrina Miranda play his children, while Bechir Sylvain is another member of Zora Bennett’s team. Ed Skrein and Philippine Velge also appear, although their roles are not yet known.
In addition to Johansson’s Zora Bennett and Ali’s Nathan Laird, Jurassic World Rebirth’s cast has assembled. Most of the footage in this trailer can be found in the first trailer that was released back in February, but it is no less exciting for having been seen before. This latest trailer again opens with a worker in a hazmat suit screaming for help inside a research facility. He’s trapped in a room with a big, hungry T Rex. The trailer promises dinosaur action aplenty, including a boat-based water-dino chase, a family captured by dinosaurs on a deserted island, and lots of tropic-tinged escapism.
Fans of the trailer will no doubt be taken aback by the large dinosaur the team will need to face. One of the film’s biggest set pieces is an attempted robbery of a pterosaur egg. One character describes it as “a flying carnivore the size of an F-16, with teeth the size of bananas.” Viewers are also treated to a glimpse of the classic raptors and a new sea-dwelling dinosaur: the mosasaur. At one point in the trailer, a character says that the Jurassic Park team once used this island to “dump the worst of the worst.” It is implied that this refers to the dinosaurs they cloned.
Jurassic World Rebirth is attempting to both move forward with the series and reset the franchise, but it does not look like it will be moving too far away from the tropes and elements the films have played with in the past. As is evident by the trailer, the return to the original research island of Jurassic Park and the original T Rex will be a major nostalgia play, while the premise also sets up Rebirth to be a story that is hard to predict.
Jurassic World Rebirth is currently slated to arrive in theaters nationwide on July 2, 2025.
